SAEZ Initiated Interagency Workgroup on International Project Coordination under Global Partnership

On 26 December, the Interagency Workgroup meeting took place in the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management with representatives of SAEZ, Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, SNRIU, Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Energoatom Company, SSTC NRS, and Science & Technology Center in Ukraine, which are beneficiaries or recipients of international technical assistance in the area of nuclear and radiation safety.

The task of the Interagency Workgroup is to develop individual consolidated matrices for all international projects implemented (or to be implemented) in SAEZ, Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, SNRIU and Energoatom Company with support of international organizations, agencies and establishments, as well as to distribute these matrices among all involved parties.

“Our common and consolidated work will help achieving better results, and the developed matrices will be a good tool for prioritizing, specifying and simplifying the presentation of projects under the Global Partnership”, Vitaly Petruk, SAEZ Chairman, noted.

It is expected that the Interagency Workgroup will develop a matrix for each main area of the G7 Global Partnership against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction. The matrices will be applied to monitor the status of each project currently under implementation or planned to be implemented under the Global Partnership.

The next Interagency Workgroup Meeting is to be held on 20 January 2017.
