Authorized Representative on Energy Safety May Appear in Ukraine
The draft law on state policy for energy safety envisages the creation of an institution for an authorized representative on energy safety.
This was announced during a roundtable “Presentation of the Draft Law on State Policy for Energy Safety” by Parliament Member Natalia Katser-Buchkovska.
“First of all, this draft law defines energy safety, threats to energy safety and energy diplomacy”, the Parliament Member said.
Besides, according to her, the draft law provides for the creation of an institution for an authorized representative on energy safety.
“This institution should be in the governmental structure and such an individual shall have a diplomatic rank and have an access to the National Security and Defense Council”, Natalia Katser-Buchkovska said.
Another important point is the assessment of the threat to energy safety and risk management in this area.
“We also identified the main principles of foreign and domestic diplomacy in the area of energy safety”, she added.
