International Training Started in Kyiv under Auspices of Interpol
A five-day Training Course on Radiological and Nuclear Safety: Prevention and Response has started on 15 October. Fifty representatives of several countries of the world participate in the event.
The training course has started its work in Kyiv under the auspices of the Interpol General Secretariat. The training is attended by 50 participants. They include representatives of law enforcement bodies of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, and Turkey. In addition, representatives of the Interpol General Secretariat and the Department of Energy of the United States of America participate in the event.
Representatives of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service, State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, National Guard of Ukraine and State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as well as the National Police of Ukraine participated in the training course.
The training course aims to familiarize interested international law enforcement bodies with up-to-date methodologies to prevent and solve crimes related to illicit trafficking of nuclear materials. In addition, it will address the peculiarities of physical protection of nuclear facilities, as well as the methodology for responding to crimes related to the use of radioactive and nuclear materials
The Training on Radiological and Nuclear Safety: Prevention and Response will last until 19 October.
