42 Nuclear Reactors under Construction in the World

As of January 2020, nuclear companies are constructing 42 reactors with a total capacity of 45.9 GW worldwide.

Relevant statistics was published by the World Nuclear Association.

Nuclear reactors are being constructed in 16 countries. The People’s Republic of China and India head the list with 11 and 7 reactors respectively.

The construction of further 9 reactors is frozen. Among them: 2 in Ukraine (Khmelnitsky NPP Units 3 and 4), 2 in the USA, 1 in Brazil, 2 in Taiwan and 2 in Russia.
