Ukraine Participated in Joint Exercises with Moldova
From 29 September to 2 October, joint exercises were held to detect radioactive materials in illicit trafficking at the international Mamalyga-Kryva checkpoint on the Ukraine-Moldova border.
The exercises were carried out with the participation of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine and Moldova National Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities under support of the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM Mission).
According to the SNRIU, the exercises were aimed at improving practical skills and technical capabilities of border structures in the prompt response to illicit trafficking of radioactive materials, checking effectiveness of existing procedures, including interdepartmental ones, information exchange, international cooperation on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.
Based on the results of the exercises, professional training of Ukrainian and Moldovan experts, technical equipment and organization of the interaction were highly appreciated by EUBAM Mission experts.
