The unit 4 of RNPP generates energy again
The repaired power unit № 4 of Rivne NPP was connected to the grid. The unit performed routine work, safety measures and work on the management of spent nuclear fuel using Holtec International technology.
“After the completion of the average planned and preventive repairs, the power unit №4 (VVER-1000) of Rivne NPP is connected to the grid. The planned increase of the unit’s capacity is underway, which is being carried out at a regulated speed in accordance with the Start-up Programme,” Energoatom’s press service writes.
As of January 10, the capacity of Unit 4 was 100%. The maintenance of the power unit 4 lasted from September 6, 2020. On January 4, 2021, at a meeting of the SNRIU, a decision was made to issue a separate written permission for the start-up of Unit 4 of RNPP after scheduled preventive maintenance with core refueling.
RNPP operates four power units, of which the 3rd and 4th are equipped with VVER-1000 reactors. Currently, the power unit № 3 is undergoing major planned and preventive maintenance.
