The head of the Energoatom Emergency Technical Centre died

On the night of January 24, Mykhailo Gashev, Honored Power Engineer of Ukraine and the Head of the Energoatom Emergency Technical Centre, died.

Mykhailo Gashev was 51 years old.

Gashev worked in the nuclear power industry all his life. The beginning of his career is connected with the Khmelnitsky NPP, where he worked as a radiological safety officer and reached the position of station Senior Shift-Head.

Since 2007, Mykhailo Khazretaliyovych had worked for the State Nuclear Regulatory Committee of Ukraine (now the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate), where in 2010 he supervised the extending the operational lifetime of the 1st and 2nd power units of the Rivne NPP. This was the first time in the history of Ukrainian energy to extend the life of power units. From 2011 to 2014, Gashev was the First Deputy Chairman of the SNRIU, Chief State Inspector for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ukraine.

Prior to heading the separate division of the NNEGC Energoatom Emergency Technical Center in 2018, Mykhailo Gashev worked as Deputy Chief Dispatcher of NEC Ukrenergo and as an advisor to the President of Energoatom and the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry.
