SAUEZM agreed on the land management project with the exact boundaries of the Chornobyl Reserve
The land management project, approved by the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management (SAEUZM), defined the exact boundaries of the Chornobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve. This was announced on March 19 by the press service of the reserve on its Facebook page.
The reserve itself called the news “extremely important and positive.”

The document was developed in pursuance of the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On land inventory” of January 20, 2021 on the inventory of lands of Ivankiv and Polissya raions of Kyiv Oblast, which belong to the exclusion zone and the zone of unconditional mandatory resettlement. Documentation is a prerequisite for conducting an inventory.
The inventory will determine the location of land management facilities, their boundaries, sizes, identification of land that is not used or used irrationally, the establishment of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of land required for the State Land Cadastre.
The Chornobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve has an area of 226,964.7 hectares. This is the largest object of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine.
