SSTC NRS Intensified Cooperation with Lviv Polytechnic University

Lviv Polytechnic and the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety agreed to cooperate in order to intensify practical training of students and their further employment.

The agreement signed by the first vice-rector of the university, Oleh Matviikiv and SSTC NRS Director Ihor Shevchenko deals with the scientific, technical, information-analytical and educational areas of joint activities. This includes: participation in industry and international scientific and educational programs and projects to ensure nuclear and radiation safety, application of advanced up-to-date practices in the educational process, improvement of efficiency and teaching methodologies, etc.

The Department of Heat Power Engineering, Thermal and Nuclear Power Plants of the Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems of the Lviv National Polytechnic University, already has experience in cooperation with SSTC NRS. This summer, power engineer students took part in online training with experts from the US Argonne National Laboratory at the SSTC NRS office.

Now two more institutes are joining this department – chemistry and chemical technologies, as well as construction and engineering systems of the Lviv Polytechnic University.
