Radiographic Camera Disappeared in Texas

On 9 March, a 24 kg radiographic camera with radioactive material belonging to the Statewide Maintenance Company disappeared in Texas. The Texas Department of State Health Services reported this.

The radiographic camera was used in the construction industry and belonged to sealed radioactive sources because the radioactive material was sealed inside a capsule, which is also sealed inside the camera with a shield and other safety features. Since the radioactive material is sealed with several protective layers, this means that the risk of radiation exposure is very low.

The last known location of the camera is 4040 Little York Road in Houston. The company is actively looking for a camera with support from the Texas Department of State Health Services and local authorities. The company offers a reward for its return.
