Exclusion Zone Facilities

To date, the operation of all four units at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant has been terminated: unit 4 was shut down in 1986, unit 2 was shut down in 1991, unit 1 in 1996, and unit 3 in 2000. The Chornobyl zone is a strict access territory, which has undergone intense radiation contamination resulting from the Chornobyl accident. The legal mode of this territory is determined in accordance with Law of Ukraine No. 791-12
